Romanian Children's Appeal Foundation (www.fundatiarca.ro) was founded in 1992 as a correspondent organization of "Romanian Children's Appeal" Foundation Ireland, whose mission is to provide medical and social support for HIV/AIDS affected persons. At the beginning, our beneficiary were the HIV/AIDS children from "Dr. Victor Babeş" Hospital and Vidra Residential Hospital and 1.500 volunteers worked in care, education, entertainment and recovering programs for children with associated disabilities. Right from 1992, RCA Foundation fought for HIV infected children's inclusion in the national education system and set up the schools where the children from the two institutions learnt.

In 1995, RCA introduced for the first time a psycho-social assistance service in "Dr. Victor Babeş" Hospital from Bucharest, by creating the Social Services and Counseling Centre (coordinated and financed so far by RCA). Staring with 2003 RCA developed a new component focused on information and sensitize the pupils, teachers and local authorities.

The projects implemented by RCA Foundation under the Global Fund 6th Round targets the youngsters living with HIV/AIDS who are registered in the "Dr. V. Babeş" Clinical Hospital:

The project "Together in life" proposes to provide information. assure education and training for social inclusion through individual and group counseling sessions for seropositive youngsters. This includes counseling within the "Education for life" Program for 40 youngsters, counseling for vocational and professional integration, development for independent life skills for 150 beneficiaries, attending training/qualification sessions (40 beneficiaries). 3.000 thematic leaflets will be elaborated in order to support the youngsters in their professional integration.

The project "Together in life" is designed to provide vocational therapy services in the hospital, improving the quality of life for the hospitalized persons. In a location provided by the Hospital RCA will set up a vocational therapy centre for 150 persons living with HIV/AIDS.
