The "Inima de Copil" Foundation

The "Inima de Copil" Foundation was founded in December 1996, at the initiative of a group of Romanian volunteers, having the mission of granting the necessary support to the children and young people in difficulty, as well as to their families, improving the quality of their lives and increasing the chances of social integration.

From the services offered by the "Inima de Copil" Foundation we may mention:

  • programs of prevention of the familial abandon and of support for the children to continue their school education
  • Deinstitutionalization, integration in families of placement or houses of familial type, ulterior support for children and young people with/without disabilities, seropositive children abandoned, coming from placement centers
  • foundation of some Day Centers, recovering, educative integration and schoolarization for children and young people with severe handicap
  • education for life, support for social integration and professional for young people with disabilities and seropositive young people

It's for the first time when this foundation benefits from the financing of the Global fund, regarding the implementation of the following projects:

  • "Education for life", which addresses to the young infected people from the county of Galati, with ages between 15-20 years. The objective of this project is constituted by the prevention of the transmission of the HIV infection, the undesired pregnancies, as well as the preparation for life and social integration of these young people. The purpose will be reached by individual and group counseling;
  • "Support for continuing education for specialists and youth living with HIV/AIDS", setting the sights on the termination of studies for children and young people who could not go to the school classes of a public institution of education. This objective will be realized by granting scholarships for 10 beneficiaries in Galati;
  • "Vocational training and practice probation", which follows the increase of the access on the labor force market of a number of 24 young people, infected with HIV, with the residence in the county Galati, by services of counseling and vocational orientation, professional training and (re) qualification.
