Scholarships for students living with HIV

The UNOPA Federation selects a number of 15 seropositive students who will benefit of a scholarship of 900 Euro/year relevant for the university year 2008-2009.
This activity is carried out within the project "Education and professional training of the seropositive youngsters ", a project financed by Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria through the Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation.
The scholarships are designed for the seropositive students in Romania who need support for continuing the studies.The selection of the students who will benefit of financial support will be made by a Selection Committee composed by representatives of organizations that implement programs designed for the seropositive youngsters: UNOPA, ARAS, RAA and Pestalozzi Foundation, the criteria will be settled with Committee's members accord.These criteria are conceived so that the seropositive students who will benefit of the support would be the ones who need the financial support to continue the studies and in the same time carried out volunteer activities in the community's support.
In order to benefit of a scholarship, they need a recommendation from and institution or an active NGO in HIV/AIDS, mainly any provider of socio-psycho-medical services for people living with AIDS, including hospitals, directorates of social assistance and care, churches, etc.
The institution or the organization that wants to make recommendations regarding attributing a scholarship must fill in a Recommendation Form.
Also, the youngsters who meet all the requirements have an Application Form.
After having filled in the two documents, it shall be sent to an electronic form to unopa@unopa.ro and/or catalina.zaharia@unopa.ro until 10.10.2008, 16:00 o'clock.
Further, it is necessary that the documents signed and stamped shall be sent via post to the UNOPA Federation address.
