The Global Fund launches a Report about models of CCM

The Global Fund had recently launched a "A Report on the Country Coordinating Mechanism Model".
The reports contain the conclusions came out of 40 case studies on the functioning model of 19 Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCM) and can be read on www.theglobalfund.org/documents/publications/other/CCM/CCM_report.pdf.
Developing the case studies was an interest of 8 different areas:
- Partnerships and leadership;
- Government and civil society's participation;
- Models used by CCMs for coordinating the grant's implementation;
- CCM secretary;
- Selection of the Principal Recipient (PR) and Sub-Recipients;
- Conflict of interest;
- CCM - PR - LFA (Local Fund's Agent) Communication;
- Practices' harmonization and alignment.
The list of the CCM - GF that had been included among those selected for the case studies was overtaken from a report in progress that evaluates the Global Fund's activity for the 5 years of activity:
- Africa: Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia si Zimbabwe;
- Asia: Cambodia, India, Sri Lanka;
- East Europe and Central Asia: Bulgaria, Romania and Tajikistan;
- Latin America and the Caribbean Area: Honduras, Jamaica, Peru and CRN+ (Caribbean Regional Network of Persons Living with HIV/AIDS).
Moreover, the Global Fund elaborated an operational research meant to evaluate the reached performances in implementing the grants that this financial organ grants them.
Based on this work instrument it was possible to evaluate the performances reached in the grants' implementation process, the difficulties that affected the programs' quality and also the methods these had been exceeded, success stories in grant's implementation, etc.
In order to improve the acknowledges on elaborating the efficient operational researches, The Global Fund elaborated together with the World Health Organization (WHO) a Guidelines of Operational Research for the Programs Financed by Global Fund.
