World Day of Chronic Respiratory Diseases

During the following days, the medical world's attention will be paid one again to the "hot" topic: respiratory diseases and its effects on our general health status.
Among these respiratory diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) have a special place. It is absolutely impressive how much the chronic bronchitis or even asthma can affect our lives.
The November 19th marks the World COPD Day, an annual event organized at an international level in order to bring to the public's and sanitary system decision makers' attention the impact of this disease on the public health, and to underline once again the associates risk factors (pollution, smoking, allergens) but also the methods to prevent and treat these diseases.
In our country will also be organized different manifestations having as a theme the respiratory diseases and its treatments. The Pneumophtiziology Institute "Marius Nasta" will be on Wednesday, November 19th the host of a symposium and a press conference on chronic respiratory diseases and its evolution in Romania.
With this occasion, The Centre for Health Politics and Services (CHPS) will launch a Study regarding "Prevalence of the chronic respiratory diseases in the Romanian population ".
This study is a part of the projects and activities that CHPS elaborates with the Global Fund's finance, through The Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation (RAA), within the 6th Round.
Those expected to this event are the representatives of the Public Health Ministry, Bucharest Public Health Authority, the Romanian Society of Pneumology and respectively of Romanian Society of Alergology and Clinical Immunology, of the National TB Control Program, GARD Romania, Pneumology department of the Medicine University "Carol Davila" from Bucharest, The National Centre for Studies in Family Medicine, nongovernmental organizations active in this field and definitely, mass media representatives.
