PSI promotes an encyclopedia - website with information about HIV/STIs for gay community
As they've used us, Population Service International (PSI) always finds new and interesting means of stepping ahead its public's needs.
Not to forget that PSI is the promoter of the event that lead to the homologation of a record on the length of a condom chain, symbolizing the chain of life and hope.
Starting from the reason, thus argumentatively, that most of the people within the gay community communicate and relate to other members through computer and internet, PSI proposes a new method of promoting some healthy behaviours, with a low risk of HIV/AIDS and other STI infection.
For about a few months, PSI has been creating and administrating a dedicated website www.totalgay.ro.
As it enjoys quite a big number of visitors, this website includes the most comprehensive encyclopaedia on HIV STIs targeted to the gay community in Romania.
The existence of this website acts as a support of an outreach program by national chat rooms based on a moderator intervention.In only one trimester, over 500 people used this method of relating to others, through the weekly outreach sessions on the 2 chat rooms with a gay profile.
The used method, quite new for the gay community in Romania, starts more and more wining grounds, being also supported by the electronic newsletter disseminated twice a month to the 2.500 subscribers.
