Baylor Black Sea Foundation has opened the Excellence Center and The Baylor-Habitat houses
The end of 2007 marked for Baylor Foundation - Marea Neagră the organization of two major events: the opening of the Excellency Centre and of the Baylor-Habitat Residential Complex.
The first event, which took place between December 4th and 5th, celebrated the transformation of the Romanian-American Child Centre in an assistance centre for HIV positive people.
This acknowledgement of quality in services provided by Baylor also means that the public-private partnership between the Clinic Hospital for Infectious Diseases and the BIPAI (Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative) took a big step forward.
The aim of this partnership is to ensure excellent services in special medical assistance and assistance complementary to the HIV infection, psychosocial, information, education and HIV testing services.
The second event organized by Baylor was the inauguration of the Baylor-Habitat Residential Complex.
The project, consisting of setting up 3 condominium-like facilities for a group of 3 young people who want to start a new independent life, had a special impact on HIV positive people, included in the family type project "House of the Flowers".
Finalizing construction work and setting up the condominiums is the result of the combined effort of Baylor Foundation and Habitat for Humanity, Romania, Cumpăna branch.
The inauguration of facilities of this type represents only the first step in the transformation of the "House of the Flowers" project from a family type project into a real centre for an independent life, and also marks the development of new programs and services that respond to the changing needs of the beneficiaries of the foundation.
