Regional meeting with the representatives from moldavian penitenciaries

The "Close to You" Foundation (ADV) organizes during August 14-15th, a regional meeting with the representatives of the penitentiaries from Moldavia.
The meeting takes part of the project "Initiative 38 - HIV/AIDS prevention project in penitentiaries" - financed by Global Fund, 6th Round through the Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation - carried out nationwide by the Romanian Harm Reduction Network (RHNR) in partnership with the National Administration of Penitentiaries and the National Anti-Drug Agency.
The main objective of this project is represented by the information and training of 28.000 prisoners from 38 penitentiaries throughout the country regarding diminishing the infection risk of HIV and hepatitis.
Within the regional meeting organized by ADV will be finalized the work instruments regarding the organization of some information sessions on diminishing the HIV infection and other sexual transmitted diseases and drug use prevention; training the peer educators and dissemination of the informative materials and articles for protected sex.
ADV Romania is member of the RHRN network and will contribute to reaching the project's purpose through the activities carried out directly in 15 penitentiaries out of the 38 throughout country and informing 10.640 prisoners out of the 28.000 total.
To be expected at the meeting are the representatives of the penitentiaries in Iasi, Constanta and Mures in partnership with penitentiaries from Aiud, Bacau, Bistrita, Botosani, Braila, Constanta, Dej, Galati, Iasi, Miercurea Ciuc, Targu-Mures, Targu-Ocna, Tichilesti, Tulcea and Vaslui.
